Dispersed Air System

MG Engineering provided mechanical and civil engineering services for the detailed engineering of the Dispersed Air System at Alberta Newsprint Company. This new system bubbles air through an overflow tank to remove pitch from the white water. Pitch levels have increased since the use of pine beetle wood which causes a few quality issues in the Newsprint at Paper Machine. This green project is in partnership with the province of Alberta.

MG Engineering was responsible for the structural, mechanical, piping design and production of detailed engineering drawings for the project, authored the contract documents and evaluated the returned tenders. Structural and mechanical design also included the equipment layout, tank fabrication drawings, tank inspection and supervision of the tank installation. MG provided assistance in the development of the process flow diagrams along with ANC and FP Innovations.
