The City of Castlegar modified two modules at the Secondary Waste Water Treatment Plant in Castlegar, BC. MG worked with TruSense Consultants on modifications to convert the first aeration cell into an anoxic zone and transferring the effluent from Cell 4 to Cell 1. This new configuration resulted in alkalinity recovery that would significantly reduce caustic dosing.
MG was awarded the mechanical/piping, civil/structural, and electrical engineering services in 2014. The project included detailed piping and piping support designs, design of the new baffles, modifications to the electrical trench, design of new schematics for air diversion control in the south module, electrical and control documents for new pumps and agitators, as well as technical specifications for the mechanical equipment.
