Howe Sound Pulp and Paper of Port Mellon, BC retained MG Engineering of Vancouver and Gibsons, BC to perform detailed engineering for the replacement of their existing Effluent Cooling Towers. The existing concrete basin and feed piping were re-used. Design modifications were required to fit the new cooling towers into the existing footprint. The project was designed in early 2013 and the installation occurred during the mill’s 10 day annual shutdown in June 2013.
