Gibsons Public Market

MG Engineering contributed engineering services for the construction of the Gibsons Public Market. The market has now successfully opened. MG has been recognized on the market’s donor wall.


Valued Supplier Award

MG would like to thank Alberta Newsprint Company (ANC) for presenting MG Engineering with a recognition award as a valued supplier for 2016. MG personnel have been involved with ANC since 1988 and have continued the relationship under MG Engineering. It has been a great pleasure working with ANC!  Here’s to many more years to come!


Suncor Energy Mechanical Lift System

MG Engineering was recently awarded a technical study by Suncor Energy. The study will involve the preliminary engineering required to perform a high level cost estimate for a Mechanical Lift System as part of a tailings recovery process. MG’s multi-disciplinary team of Civil/Structural, Mechanical/Piping and Electrical/Instrumentation engineers and technologists will work together to complete the study.


Caustic Modernization Project

MG performed detailed engineering and construction management for the new Caustic Evaporation Unit at Canexus Corporation in North Vancouver.

Heat Exchangers at Howe Sound Pulp & Paper

MG performed the engineering for the installation of two spiral heat exchangers at HSPP. Using only re-purposed heat exchangers, HSPP is now able to recover heat from the TMP refiner exhaust scrubber in order to heat water for the Paper Machine.


Peabody Energy Australia  

Peabody Energy Australia has awarded MG Engineering a contract to produce a third party review of a proposed design for a back fill emplacement hydro transport system at a colliery in New South Wales.


Effluent Cooling Towers

Howe Sound Pulp and Paper of Port Mellon, BC retained MG Engineering of Vancouver and Gibsons, BC to perform detailed engineering for the replacement of their existing Effluent Cooling Towers.

Albert Newsprint Company (ANC) of Whitecourt Alberta has retained MG Engineering of Vancouver BC, to design the services piping for the new power generation system.


ANC Pin Chip Recovery

Alberta Newsprint Company (ANC) of Whitecourt Alberta has retained MG Engineering of Vancouver BC, to design a system to recovery pin chips from their effluent system.


Canexus HCl and Caustic Rail Car Loading Facility

The Canexus Corporation facility in North Vancouver, BC has expanded their Hydrochloric Acid production facilities requiring an increase to the railcar loading capacity. MG Engineering Inc. performed the engineering to upgrade their acid and caustic rail loading facilities. The project consisted of feasibility, appropriation budget preparation and detailed engineering for three new acid and caustic railcar loading stations.

HSPP Effluent Cooling Tower

Howe Sound Pulp and Paper of Port Mellon BC has retained MG Engineering of Vancouver, BC to produce detailed engineering for the replacement of their existing Effluent Cooling Towers. The project consists of new foundations and piping modifications, construction will start in the spring with start-up to be in June 2013.


Viterra Truck Loading System

MG engineering has started detailed design on the new truck loading system for Viterra at their Cascadia terminal in Vancouver.


QRP Sodium Sulphite Make Down System

MG Engineering has started detailed design on the sodium sulphite make down system for QRP in their mill in Quesnel BC.
