FIBC Silo Replacement

MG Engineering (MG) worked with a client to replace the existing loading silo and blowline piping, as well as to upgrade the silo ventilation fan. This project included estimating services, detailed civil/structural engineering, and detailed piping/mechanical engineering.

The silo was at the end of its life. The new stainless steel silo was designed to allow for easier access to the outlet valve and additional structural steel bracing support was added to to allow the loading silo to withstand the seismic loads. To prevent excess demolition costs, a clearance study was performed on the new silo and the existing support beams.
